Flavor Profiles and Combinations

It really is possible to get the best of both worlds; a cake that looks stunning and surpasses all of your guests expectations.

The foraging of ingredients is what sets Patisserie Angelica apart; seeking out organic free trade Tahitian vanilla beans or the sweetest organic peach at our local Farmer’s Market. We have amazing relationships with so many local farmers. It has never been about finding the cheapest cream or cutting corners in our recipes. We have consistently sought to evolve in what we do. Maybe it is a new cinnamon I ran across from Sumatra, how would that heighten flavors in the spice cake or carrot cake?

All of our cakes are four layers; so you will have three fillings. It will give you the opportunity to create more complex and interesting interiors. Unless the cake is designed otherwise it will be approximately four inches high!

Our interiors are customized as well but here are some inspirations for interiors:

  • White Cake studded with Organic Bittersweet Chocolate Chunks with layers of chocolate fudge, our house made raspberry jam and whole raspberries.
  • Organic Tahitian Vanilla Bean Cake layered with our house made raspberry jam, raspberries and French buttercream.
  • Almond Based Cake with brandied organic apricots with an apricot buttercream. and our house made organic blackberry jam.
  • Chocolate Chiffon Cake with chocolate fudge and raspberries.
  • Oven Roasted Banana Cake with organic peanut butter buttercream or vanilla cream cheese.
  • Coconut Cake with passionfruit or key lime curd.
  • Lemon Zest Cake with an organic Meyer lemon curd. Also available with poppy seeds.
  • “Tiramisu” A white cake with toasted ground hazelnuts soaked with espresso, Kahlua and brandy with a whipped mascarpone filling.
  • Spiced Carrot Cake baked with organic carrots then layered with vanilla cream cheese filling.
  • Chocolate Chiffon Cake with organic peanut butter buttercream. We also love it with caramelized bananas. 
  • Chocolate Beet Cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate fudge.
  • Cocoa Velvet Cake with cream cheese icing. Contains no red food coloring.
  • Brown Butter Buttermilk Cake with caramel buttercream and house made toffee bits or with seasonal fruit (our favorite is organic tree ripened peaches!)
  • Organic local fruits in season.

Gluten free options 

  • Flourless Chocolate Cake for the unrelenting chocolate lover! Layer these dense dark cakes with a raspberry chocolate fudge.
  • Parisien - Layers of a French style almond macaroon layered with a lightened praline buttercream.
  • Carrot Cake – Our delicious spiced carrot cake but gluten free! Perfect with our cream cheese icing!
  • Chocolate Beet Cake with chocolate buttercream and chocolate fudge.
